How do you swap ETH to SOL in one step without using a centralised exchange
You use a non-custodial cross-chain swap service. The service accepts your Ethereum on the Ethereum network and sends Solana to your wallet on the Solana network, all within a single transaction you initiate.

You send from your own wallet straight to the exchanger — nothing to connect, no account, and you stay on this page throughout. Rates are indicative until a swap is opened.
The swap is carried out by an independent exchanger and the deposit address above is theirs. pigeoninyellowboots.lol never holds, receives or controls your funds, has no key to that address, and earns a referral commission. Opening a swap sends your receiving address, IP, browser and timezone to the exchanger for their compliance checks; we store none of it. Check their terms, fees and country restrictions before sending anything.
One step means you never have to manually bridge tokens, withdraw to a separate account, or trade on a centralised exchange. The swap service handles the conversion and the chain transfer itself. Here is how that actually works.
The service runs automated software that monitors both blockchains. When you submit a swap order, you send your ETH to a deposit address the service controls on Ethereum. The service waits for enough blockchain confirmations to treat the deposit as final. Then it executes a trade on a decentralised exchange - usually swapping your ETH for a stablecoin, then that stablecoin for SOL, though the routing varies. Finally it sends the SOL from its own reserves on Solana to your destination address. The service bears the risk that the price moves between the moment you deposit and the moment it completes the trade. To protect itself, it locks in the exchange rate at the moment you create the order, and gives you a short window to send the deposit. If you miss that window, the rate expires.
Because the service holds inventory on both chains, it can send SOL from its Solana wallet immediately after confirming your ETH deposit. You never need a separate bridge transaction. The swap settles in two halves: the deposit on Ethereum, the payout on Solana. The two events are linked by the service's internal ledger, not by any cross-chain smart contract. That is why the process is called "one step" from your perspective. You do one action - send ETH - and receive SOL.
You should know a few limits. The swap is not instant. Ethereum confirms in roughly 12-15 seconds under normal conditions, but the service will wait for more confirmations to avoid reorganisations - often 12 to 30 blocks. Solana confirms in under a second, but the service may batch payouts. Total time is usually a few minutes. The service also charges a fee, built into the quoted rate. That rate is worse than what you would get trading directly on a deep order book, but you are paying for the convenience of skipping bridges and centralised accounts.
The service does not hold your private keys at any point. You send from your wallet; it sends to your wallet. You remain in control of your funds except during the brief period when the service holds your deposit before paying out. That is custodial risk for those few minutes, not for the entire process.
If you want to understand how the service moves assets between blockchains without a bridge, read the sibling page "How do non-custodial swap services move assets between blockchains". It explains the inventory and rebalancing mechanics in detail.
